Contract Mining Partners You Can Trust

To Deliver Safe, Efficient, and Sustainable Operations

At Aris Mining, our collaboration with local small-scale mining groups is a cornerstone of our success in Colombia. Through long-term partnerships with Contract Mining Partners (CMPs), we’re helping formalize artisanal mining, support safer and more responsible operations, and create shared value through increased production, technical training, and inclusive development in our host communities.

Key Benefits of Our CMP Model

We believe that the foundation for successful mining in Colombia depends on working closely with communities, formalizing small-scale miners, and aligning with national priorities. Our partnership model with CMPs reflects this commitment to creating long-lasting shared value.

For Aris Mining

  • Increases in gold production with attractive economics,
  • Extends the life of the mine,
  • Unlocks mutual growth opportunities,
  • Builds community trust, and
  • Natural financial hedge.

For CMPs

  • Enhances economics and working capital financing,
  • Safer and more responsible operations through access to industrial processing capacity,
  • Participation in the formal economy (including social security / government benefits, access to financial services, etc.), and
  • Training programs in health and safety, environmental stewardship, etc.

For the Government

  • Supports the government’s formalization strategy,
  • Boosts tax revenues and royalty payments, and
  • Demands compliance with labor laws.

For the Environment

  • Eliminates use of mercury, which is commonly used by traditional small-scale miners,
  • Efficient resource use (water and energy), and
  • Responsible tailings disposal and environmental stewardship.

CMPs in Action

In Segovia

At Segovia, CMPs employ more than 3,500 miners, benefiting from a mutually supportive business model that brings them into the formal economy while promoting safer working conditions and environmentally responsible practices.

In Marmato

At Marmato, we recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding led by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the National Mining Agency, the Governor of Caldas, the Mayor of Marmato, CORPOCALDAS and other key community stakeholders, to accelerate the formalization of artisanal and small-scale miners in the Municipality of Marmato. Through this agreement, we have committed to work with the government to streamline permitting for artisanal and small-scale miners, promote environmental stewardship and safety standards, while also providing technical training to those artisanal and small-scale miners.
